Version 2.8 (build 2026-q4-cf2d17d) of the unstructured flow solver Arion is available for download.

Major features/changes/fixes in this release (relevant directive or option in parentheses):

Static Aeroelasticity
--------------------------
Added static aeroelasticity capability (keyword: 'aeroelasticity')

Volumetric User Source
-------------------------------
Added an option to specify a user-defined volumetric source through an external library. (keyword: 'user.source')

Mass Flow Inlet
---------------------
Added a new boundary condition for specifying the mass flow rate at an inlet. (keyword: 'mass.flow.inlet')

Heavy Gas Model
-----------------------
For non-equilibrium chemistry, added an option to include condensed species and phase transitions between them. (keyword: 'phase.transition')

Miscellaneous
-------------------

  • Added the TNT-XLES hybrid RANS/LES turbulence model (keyword: 'xles')
  • Added an option to specify a combination of Mach number, Reynolds number, and temperature from the input file. (keyword: 'Reynolds')
  • Added options to output the gas heat capacity ratio and gas constant. (keywords: 'eos.gamma', 'eos.R')
  • Added an option to use Cantera's internal equilibrium solver. (keyword: 'eq.engine')
  • Added the new 'mlp.pw' limiter for improved convergence. (keyword: 'mlp')
